The lead actor does a great job here and holds the entire movie together. I can't believe that is the same guy from American Assassin. He plays pretty much the opposite guy here.
It's got a couple tense scenes, some touching scenes, and a lot more funny scenes. In the end I enjoyed it more than I thought I would and it kept my interest from start to finish.
Hopefully they keep Rooker and the girl that played young Gamora in it. I think she is another great casting choice in this.

Have you ever watched a movie and felt like you should be liking it more than you actually are? Well that was my experience with this film. It's undoubtedly well-made: Well shot and directed, looks like it has a decent-sized budget, the actors do well, and the concept feels somewhat fresh, but I just struggled to really get into it.
Regarding Dylan O'Brien, I agree that it's hard to believe it's the same guy from American Assassin. It's almost like he aged in reverse, as he both looks and seems years younger in this film than he did in that one. If you haven't seen them, you may want to check out the Maze Runner films, as he is the lead in those. The second one is pretty average, but I liked the first and the third.
It's actually a far better movie than you would expect. But that title sucks.

The tone of it was perfect. Not over the top, not serious, just fun.
Loved Boy, he was the best character 🙂. The young girl was great too.
If you're after a nonsense film to pass some time and just switch of your brain for 2 hours, then add this to your watch list.

I watched it with my little siblings. I went in with no expectations & ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would.
I feel like this film flew under the radar. It got good reviews but not a lot of people have seen it.
I liked the characters. The monsters were pretty awesome. The film is just a fun watch.
