WHHHHHHHAAAAAAATTTT!!!!???

She kills the son but never goes to jail?

Screw his movie. Stupidest thing I have ever seen, it deserves a more lower rating. Whoever wrote this movie is dumber than every retard put together.

well, she went to go court and the court found her not guilty; due to her mental state. but from here, im not sure why she wasn't institutionalized.

That was my main problem with this story. She should have been locked up one way or another.

reply

Yes. Then she kills her husband and is found with blood on her dress. But since her foster brother said he did it, the cops don't bother to put 2 and 2 together, even though she killed her own son in the very same house. This is a garbage movie that insults the intelligence of its viewers. I think this may be the stupidest movie I've ever watched.

reply

Yes, I'm still ANGRY with myself for devoting time to watching this. I kept hoping it would get better but it didn't.

The decisions were beyond idiotic.

Today I told my friend to watch it.

Why should I be the only one who suffers?

reply

I came here because I thought I was going crazy if I was the only one who couldn't believe she kept walking around untouched on the outside. As soon as I saw the title of this thread, I knew I was not alone !!!!!

I will say, though, that maybe this sort of resolution is not as unusual as we think.

1) Maybe the judge thought she suffered from post-partum depression. That stuff can do a number on someone. And maybe she had a good lawyer.

2) She did suffer from something, apparently brought on by her stay in the foster home. If her husband could have gotten to the bottom of that in time, he might have been able to unlock her demons in time, Marnie-style, Marnie being the great Hitchcock movie with a woman repressing terrible memories.

3) There was a certain poetic justice in George taking the fall. After all, he had just killed (I think) a cop (and possibly raped ... and possibly killed ... his wife.

Oh, and a thing more or two. Please forgive me, mystee_reyne, if I edit this a few times if other things occur to me; I know the edits will keep showing up on your e-mail.

What I couldn't believe was: the husband just brushed off Catherine's confession that she had been raped by Mr. Smith. Wouldn't that have been a powerful motivator for revenge and might that not even justify Mr. Smith's killing, especially to a teenager? I knew some criminals once and they were terrified of teenagers, saying teens can do extreme things not realizing there can be consequences.

I'll also post a thread just on this subject.
