Any other movies like this?

I haven't seen a whole lot of black films, although there are quite a few on Netflix which I have been enjoying very much. I don't mean to seem patronizing but they do seem to be a genre: movies made by blacks about blacks. Back in the day, movies about blacks used to be called black exploitation films but I think that was because they were made for blacks by non-blacks. Now I think movies in the genre are largely produced by the people who are mainly watching them.

But this movie is the first thriller I have seen in the genre, and, in fact, I think it crosses over into more of what might be considered the mainstream. Eventually, of course, probably all movies will do that and there won't be any differences. But, anyway, aside from the subplot about the husband encountering discrimination at work, the movie to me transcends barriers. Well, in fact, all movies do, as our emotions are universal. And the husband's struggles could be changed only very slightly to tailor a remake for a homogenized audience.

But what I'm trying to say, tripping all over myself, is that I just don't remember having seen a black thriller. Cuba Gooding's very good A Murder of Crows which you might still be able to see on Netflix or one of the free services such as Hulu or Crackle, I forget exactly where I saw it though it was within the past few months, was a thriller but I'm guessing it was not produced by blacks. So do you happen to know of any other thrillers in this genre? I don't mean gang-related crime movies and not the Scary Movies but, you know, murder mystery/suspense even psychological films like this?
