Disappointed
I am so offended. Like a personal affront.
Ok maybe not that offended. But close to it. Ok maybe not even close to but somewhere in the Tropic of Cancer definitely.
I rarely watch movies. Even when I was a kid. For instance although I have written parody skits for stage improvisations of The wizard of Oz, Star Wars, Gone with the Wind etc... I have never seen the movies. I just know some of the major scenes. I once confused Yoda with Jabba (sorry Mike). So when I do watch a movie it's because I have really put thought into...do I really want to waste my reading time watching scenes?
Then I research it for novel adaptions and buy the book if available. Then typically thumb my nose at the movie...because no way will it live up to the book.
I wasted 90 minutes of my time watching a movie yesterday and I just want to spit. I won't, because it's not ladylike. I even shield my mouth from view, when I am alone in the bathroom, after brushing my teeth and rinsing my mouth.
So the movie I watched was horrible. The one character I did like, squealed during his sex scene like he was the black version of Ned Beatty in the homosexual rape scene of Deliverance. Which other than the banjos in the opening scenes of the movie are the only 2 scenes I ever saw. (Then bought the book and flipped thru it to the rape scenes so I could get more details.) except for the sex scene Omari Hardwick really was the only decent actor in the movie.
Seriously. If any of my male partners had made faces and noises like this character did during sex I would have immediately stopped and called an exorcist. I don't believe I even saw the female actress' face during the scene. Not only because my eyes were riveted to the spastic facial contortions of the actor, but in my belief she probably was unable to keep a straight face.
So, horrible music. Disjointed scenes. Really poor storyline. I kept thinking "ok, the end will clarify the story" No. Even the title was bogus. "The Last Letter" There was no first letter. And the last letter was a narrated paragraph. All the characters were overplayed. Except the token friend, Claudia. That one was underplayed. I have to say the baby was adorable.
The movie was The Last Letter, Directed by Paul D. Hannah.
I kinda want to watch it again for more redeeming qualities I might have missed.
Oh, most of the main characters were beautiful.
