I've been watching this season wondering if the other ladies are really stupid enough to fall for Shanna's obvious manipulation.
The thing that I thought of Shanna is that she plays the game on another level. Jessica just isn't that smart and says and does things without much thought.
She said the comments were made because she was hurt that Andrea and Shamicka were putting down the relationship with her new guy, saying he was immature and that the relationship was immature because it was only about sex.
If she was smart and more emotionally capable she would have just called them out on their slut shaming and derogatory behavior and communicated that she was already in a difficult position having many other women coming for her because she was dating a black guy. Like she said; what's wrong if a woman does just want to have a sexual relationship. She felt that they were putting her down for that.
It did turn my stomach how Shamicka was slut shaming her again and again, calling her love life a "Mandingo situation" (which is a story about a slave owner abusing and having sex with his slaves), the girls roaring with laughter that Jessica would show up in seconds if there was just lots of black dick around, calling her a slut for not saying she wanted a serious relationship etc etc. It was slut shaming at a high level.
I just think Jessica can't communicate the scope of her emotions and why she texted stupid comments, and is too overwhelmed by the situation to be able to confront it. Her comments weren't ok but I also think there is more going on than the girls want to take a look at.
Like others have pointed out, Shanna obviously had an agenda with her reaction to Jessica and with showing the texts. What Jessica wrote was wrong, but it also doesn't take away from how quickly and easily Shanna turned against her.
I would never trust a person who so swiftly could go from being friends, and with so little reason.
If she did it to Jessica she will do it to the others too.
Hey, probably it's all play for the ratings; it's still a TV show and the plot must be simple and easy to follow; lets hate on one person and not dig too deep in the rest of it.
But, the golden shower comment and the obvious acting performance of "oh, I had no idea her ex-husband was part of the most public and well known sexual child abuse case of the past decade, and that every single magazine wrote about how he liked to degrade and piss on children." That is psychopath level lying.
She knew exactly what she was doing.
But again, it could all just be part of a script and everyone plays the part they are handed.
