Lost Opportunity... ! ***spoilers***

**spoilers**

Many of us like inspirational sport movies. This one could've been good. But what happened? Cliches! We all knew that the coach was going to die at some point of the movie, either from a stroke or drawned, or just killed. We all knew that the "older brother" was going to end up in jail (or killed), we all knew that the romance with the girl would blossom, and of course it was a given that Drew would run faster and break the record he was trying. So at least they could've given us a fresher ending etc etc (By the way, having Kim Bassinger in such a minor role was a waste of talent, she could've had some "meaning" in the story). The acting from Jenkins and Drew was good!

I completely agree with you there. There were so many cliches in this film and the film was not completely horrible but it just fell flat with emotions, it was more like a TV film a la Disney. The editing was not good either however Kelly Blatz did a good job acting wise as did the actor who played the coach. And you are right about Basinger, what a waste, I think they used her name to sell the movie. It is a shame she did not have a bigger role, in the film.

Always look for the positive in every situation.
