Why the low rating?

Only 67% on RT? This really surprises me. I thought it was one of the best films I have seen this year (along with Room and Spotlight). It's superbly written and extremely well-acted (especially by Devin Druid). It's a thoughtful study of the genuine emotions we feel after a loved on dies. It's complex and and always easily explained, but I thought this film made an excellent job of bringing it to light and I cared about the characters. I also loved the nods to other movies (such as the brilliant Donnie Darko).

I haven't seen this director's other work, but I shall definitely be checking it out.

My God, it's full of stars!

I totally agree with you. Also, you should definitely check out his previous works. Oslo, August 31st is probably in my top 10 movies of all time. His other movie Reprise is also another masterpiece. I actually connected with the other two movies more than I did with this one. I don't know if it was movies themselves or the different context (His previous movies are all in Norwegian). You should also check out Eskil Vogt's movie 'Blind', who has co-written this movie and all the other Joachim Trier's Movies.

I thought it was a fairly generous rating or pretty much where it should be. It was well acted, but very melodramatic. I've seen this kind of film a dozen times. The screwed up family who lost their mother , and wife , and between that time somehow lost each other. The youngest kid really screwed up, but in the end the father seems like he's the most screwed up.
The film reminded me of Disconnect only not nearly as good. I think it deserves a 6.8 IMHO. I definitely honor your love of the film, and it was pretty decent. Just a little to melodramatic.

THERES NO ROOM IN MY CIRCUS TENT FOR YOU !!!!
