It's been 30 minutes into the pilot and all I can think of is that this show is a wanna be Grey's Anatomy!
I'll admit, I have never seen Grey's but this show so far is filling the hole ER left.

True. They also didn't really explain anything about this show or make it so we get an idea of a story line it kind of just jumped right into operating and stuff. I'm not even sure what this episode was about really

I never said the show wasnt good because I actually enjoyed it and I will continue to watch it. However, it reminded me very much of greys. Especially when they called that guy 007 because that was George's nickname in greys. I also said I have never watched any other medical shows or anything so greys is all I have to compare it to and I could see a lot of greys in this show. I liked that there was more medicine in this and I think it has potential to be a good show. But, from what I saw in how they were trying to describe the characters all I saw was greys anatomy.

These days, pretty much any show can be cited as being similar to some other show...there just aren't an infinite amount of ideas.
I thoroughly enjoy this show; I think it's well cast and well written, and sure I see some things that remind me of other shows, but dwelling on that doesn't help anyone.

Exactly. This is more about the medicine and less about the sexcapades. Obviously they have to throw in something about the characters' personal lives if they want to avoid alienating their fanbase, but I thought this was much more intelligent and mature than Grey's Anatomy, which I stopped watching very quickly due to its soap opera-esque plot lines.
And the medicine was fairly reasonable, not perfect, but no blaring mistakes either. It's one of the benefits of having Sanjay Gupta on board.

i agree with you, Grey's Anatomy is a soap disguise as a medical drama but this is actually more about the medicine, not who they are sleeping with. I like this show so far and hoping it does well.

shareI disagree with that. Especially since it's a successful show that has been on for 9 years. That's your opinion and I respect that but I don't agree with it. And also like I said before, I never said Monday Mornings is a bad show, just from what I saw in the beggining it reminded me of greys.
shareI don't care if you disagree with my opinion or even respect it. Grey's Anatomy is not original. Everything it's done has been done elsewhere and better. Grey's has ridiculous characters and it appeals to the lowest common denominator.
You think MM is ripping off GA because it has an attractive neuro-surgeon? That's one of the dumbest things I ever heard. It's a medical drama, there's going to be a neuro-surgeon, and most actors and actresses are attractive or else they wouldn't get any major roles, that's how the business works.
How can you say 'I only watch Grey's' and then say 'I feel like they took bits of other shows'??

Elliot: Can't we just go home, put on our pj's and watch "Grey's Anatomy?"

Aside from the setting and the insinuation that two surgeons are in a relationship there's not a lot of Grey's Anatomy in the show.

This thread is ridiculous... The 3 top drama themes, Medical, Judicial and Law Enforcement all share something. They've all stolen something. Not just from their own counterparts but from each other as well. Getting up in arms because a show like this has similarities to another medical drama is petty and pointless.
The point is to focus on what makes it different. This show has a uniqueness to it and is well done in comparison. I felt as if I was a part of the staff 5 minutes in. As long as they stay away from the personal drama that turn shows into the pretentious brain-dead soap operas (like Grey's Anatomy), it may hold its own.
Then years from now some new medical drama will have the same stupid thread saying how it's just like "Monday Mornings" and to "get original". Welcome to Television.
