Why is this popular?

This is total crap! My daughter is 5, and we enjoy the toddler shows on Nick. I can even tolerate Spongebob. He's not my favorite, but there are worse things on T.V. We kind of stumbled upon this one day. Thankfully my daughter wasn't interested, but I watched it for a couple minutes to try to get the gist of it. He kind of seems like a teenage rip off of Stuart from MADTV. And then I found out the background information about Fred. His mother is a recovering drug addict/alcoholic and his father is on death row. He was also abused. What the crap!?! This is supposed to be a funny kids' show?!? It sounds like something that should be on an afterschool special. (Oh wait! They don't have those anymore!) That's some serious material, and it should be approached in a gentle manner. There are kids who are really living a life like that, and this show is using it for comedy? I just don't think that's appropriate for kids.

This is garbage, and I will not let my daughter watch this.
