Name of actor who was shot?

I only caught the sad end on BBC Four, when the one with what I think was a Scottish accent was shot for stopping the pirate from taking the necklace from his friend. Left me thinking that no necklace is worth that.
Then I looked on IMDB to see if I could find the name of the actor with Scottish accent but still couldn't find which one he is. I have watch it again now to know whole story.

The actor was Keith Pearson. The character he played was the captain. It's worth seeing the movie in full in my opinion, though obviously not everyone would agree.

Congrats on ruining the film for all the people who haven't seen it with a huge SPOILER in your title..
Ever heard of spoiler? And you don't put MAJOR spoilers in titles.. ever..
