'Are you all right?'

Wonderful show -- writing, plot turns, humor, depth of understanding of people.

Side notes:
1. We are in middle of Season 3 and have taken taken to counting how many times a character asks, "Are you all right?" It seems to average 6 times per episode.
2. What happened to the old William?

Apt description. Couldn’t agree more.

It is a common phrase, isn’t it? Which is quite a lovely thing really, when you think about it.

As I understand it, simple case of Original William (Edward Ashley) having other commitments when the third series was filmed, hence change of casting. He was very special, but Dean Smith does a fine job playing him now imo.

Thanks for your reply, Ghost of Hamet.
1. In my praise for the show, I meant to include the acting. So perfect, with Derek Jacobi at the top of the list.
2. "Are you all right?" Yes, it's endearing.
3. I liked Edward Ashley. And, as you say, Dean Smith is just fine.
4. We have only three seasons on Netflix. I'll be very happy when we have access to Season 4.

Oh yes. The acting is simply superb! What a cast!

I'll be happy when we ALL have access to S4 when it is made!! :D (as opposed to, thus far, only the 2016 xmas special :-(...... )
