The Missing Man

Very unsatisfying ending to a lousy episode of a usually good series.

The daughter, Milly, shot and killed her father when he was in drag and entering his bedroom from the window. Milly thought he was a female intruder. Milly never realized who she really shot and she later was told that the intruder had killed her father. The rest of the family covered it up, so I guess that's why Milly was on board at the end with her mother marrying her previously-disliked uncle. Inspector Mallory was fooled to also believe there was a female intruder that killed the father, and he stopped the investigation.
