Lady Felicia's Husband

Is it ever mentioned where Lady Felicia's husband is and why he's never around.
Her roving eye doesn't seem to bother Father Brown.

I think it was mentioned once that he was a Marquis, so perhaps he's sitting in the House of Lords? (BTW, in that case she should be known as Lady (his title) and not Lady Felicia.

The rule about British titles for women is: if you acquired your title by birth, then you're Lady Firstname; if by marriage, you're Lady Lastname.

Lady Felicia might have been the daughter of an earl. In Downton Abbey, the head of the family is Robert Crawley, Earl of Grantham. His daughters were Lady Mary, Lady Edith, and Lady Sybil.

However, in The Daughter of Autolycus she is addressed/referred to as "Countess" a couple of times by the Bishop and Cardinals.

An earl's wife is a countess. Referring to Downton Abbey again, Robert is the Earl of Grantham, and his wife, Cora, is the Countess of Grantham. They are addressed as Lord Grantham and Lady Grantham.

If Lady Felicia is a countess, then she's the widow of an earl. But the fact that she's called Lady First Name means she's also the daughter of an earl.

My mother's best friend married an earl. She was called Countess, Lady (Surname). Their daughter, being the daughter of an earl was Lady (Christian) name.

She is also very generous with the church.

What if she were to be both [by birth, and by marriage]?

Is anyone really bothered by this upper class nonsense?
