Thank God it is gone

I loved it and was really pissed when it got canceled..

Caught the show on DVD this weekend. Overall did not like it. It lacked bite. I only stuck with it because of Radha, who was very good, but the plot progression and characters were very dull.

SPOILERS AHEAD

She should have found out who really killed her husband withing the first 4-6 episodes, then in an act of blind rage killed that person and become the leader of her father's organization and become a Godmother in a sense.

And is it just me or was Marta almost never in any real danger? I liked that scene where the guy punches her in the gut but she just gets up and keeps going (would have been nice to see her bruise), but she never had to really fight for her life. The show did too good of a job of keeping her hands clean when they should have been very, very dirty. Running drugs/guns is not very exciting.

Plus her family is filled with morons, namely her brother and oldest son. Plus the FBI agent with the disappearing junkie wife was an idiot. His romance with Marta's sister was dull and went nowhere. Schiller was very non-threatening because it was obvious they want him to be Marta's love interest when he should have been portrayed as more dangerous.

I could just see so many ways they could have spiced up the show and instead it was just so dull with the occasional brilliant moment. It should have taken a few pages out of Breaking Bad's book and had Marta do bad things for good reasons.

Don't try to cash in love, that check will always bounce.
