Marriage Malibu Style out of order?

Was this episode played out of order? Seems like this episode should of been at the beginning of the season. Kim had a baby. Did they just write the baby off the show? It seemed that the girl and Sage were just friends, for when they though he was gay. And the friendship level of Reba and Kim made it seem like they just met each other.

Any thoughts?
