What was Derek's sentence?

The fast cuts to the newspaper articles at the end of the film only said that the community was outraged at the sentence Derek received. But there was no mention as to what the sentence was. Was it lenient, or harsh?

I would've thought he may of got off by pleading not guilty by reason of temporary insanity

In my subtitled version it said 25 years

You have to watch closely because it goes by quickly, but after it said he received 25 years, it said he was acquitted. Which is awesome because the scumbag brother got what he deserved.
