Why would she go see them and celebrate, what if it had been negative?

I am watching this now and it's almost over. Yes I feel sympathy for Nettie/Carlina and I think she did the right thing, and it's probably because of the writing in the movie maybe but WHY on EARTH would she GO to their house and celebrate being home BEFORE the test results came back in? I mean, yes we know that she is who she is, but she didn't know for sure. I just think it was very irresponsible even though it did turn out to be a happy ending and the result was Positive, and especially her daughter being there too. I know this is Entertainment, I would just hope that they had used a little better discretion for all involved. The emotional toll on Nettie would have been intense, let alone her daughter. I know it was rushed for the movie, but I think they should have cleared that up a bit better.

What I don't get is WHY was she upset with her birth parents? It was the scumbag nurse who stole her!

Does anyone know what her status is now? Who is she closer to now?

She was upset with the woman who raiser her. As to why she was upset with her birth parents, maybe because of their hate for the woman in question. Completely justified of course, but she was the only mother she knew so it would still have been disturbing for her. Maybe she felt they were making her choose sides, or demanding she left her whole life.

Well lets start off by clearing it up, Ann Pettway was never a nurse, she was posing as a nurse.
Her being upset with her birth parents can be explained by the fact that as soon as she meets them all they do is bad mouth the woman who raised her, yes they got the worse end, the abduction not only stole Netty''s life away but broke her parents up, but it doesn't change the fact that Netty was still raised in a way that she was healthy, smart and good nature, its not like she was held in a basement for years and whipped. So to have strangers talk about the woman you have known as mom can be a bit jarring.
Than she has the emotion of feeling like her birth parents did not try enough, she found them easily, so why did they not find her? Of course we know the times were different, its easy to find someone now in comparison to 1987.
Also Netty was already confused at her place and to see a news report where her birth mom is accusing her of changing because they didn't still have her money is understandable.

Exactly. There was no internet back in 1987 as well as much technology stuff to find missing kids unlike today. Netty/Carlina should understand her birth parents side they really did try to look for and then they had 2 other kids to think about. They did all they could do, but Carlina didn't have to act that way with her birth parents, if I was Carlina I would have told the lady off about how she kidnapped me. There was other ways to get a kid that lady could have adopted.

I think they had every right to do so.
If anyone was the true victim here - it was the real parents. The girl lived all those years not knowing anything was wrong - it was the parents that had all those years of trauma.

I thought they might've skipped over a scene showing that the results were indeed positive.Nope! That wasn't the case.I don't get that either.I'm not going to celebrate without knowing the results to the dna test.I don't care if I look like I could pass as a twin of one of their other family members(just because someone looks alike doesn't mean they're related).Hey,but that's just me.
