Unlike other posters I haven't read the books so can't compare the programme with the original source. That might be a good thing if one wants to enjoy the TV show, which is a farcical period piece with great one-liners. I thought Jennifer Saunders as the sister was superb.

Anyway it's inspired me to read the books now.

Our family loves the series, just as we love Jeeves and Wooster. I hope they make a second series.
