Loved the Kids play, but didn't reaaly get the sense of this film

This young "Mckell David" was quite a good surprise to me, would love to see him in other projects.
Otherwise,many things wrong in this movie, like : How can the old guy let a 14yo kid enter in a gangster crib on his own with like 2 weeks of training ? Does he even care about the kido ?
