Difficult unless you grew up speaking French
So much of it is speaking (presumably) famous lines from Molière that probably all French grew up on. Without that background it lags and becomes difficult to appreciate.
shareI think it was clear from Cycling with Molière's narrative that the play reflects Serge's beliefs regarding others, actors in particular. Hence Serge reciting part of the play in the final scene, still upset over Gauthier and Francesca's fling.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not.
