It's fairly evident that most of these guys do not need day jobs.
You need a fairly large income to do what they do, so... trust fund babies, lottery, marry into a really rich family... I mean, did you look at Phil Heath's house?
I agree, it seems like they all had a considerable amount of money from some source--the narration mentioned sponsors and the winner of the Mr. Olympia at gets several hundred thousand and these guys compete in many different competitions throughout the year.
If you were watching closely, all of these guys--except the one with the grandmother trainer lady--had expensive things--luxury cars, a watch collection, huge houses, tailored clothing--they all seemed to have serious cash.
Imagine how much you would have to have to be able to eat 7-8000 calories a day alone, not mention all of the supplements they take, which can range from $40-60+ per bottle (and it looked like many of them took several different kinds).
Do you think this is just a hobby for them? At the top competitive levels, this *IS* their job.
