Will there be a second season
Hi I've just watched the last episode and loved it. Does anyone know if they are planning a second season and when.

shareI DVR-ed all 5 episodes for my grandfather, then I caught the flu and ended up watching them myself as well.
There clearly were anachronisms and the budget was obviously very low but since I don't know anything about the military it didn't bother me much.
The acting was good with a few stand-out performances (the actors playing Keenan and Lomax) and I enjoyed the soundtrack as well.
Frankly, I don't understand why this wasn't given a higher budget, a decent military advisor and broadcast in the evening.
As a 23 year old woman I wasn't the target audience but I loved it and I hope there will be a second series.
Nope, no chance of a 2nd series. It was written to be a self contained show, pretty much told its story out in the 5th episode.

Personally, I thought the story really only started and I am keeping my fingers crossed for a second series.
I also hope that there will be a second season Very enjoyable programme.
shareIn a recent interview Alexander Vlahos made these statements:
“With Privates on our contract we’ve got another two years optioned, of course optioning on a contract doesn’t mean anything if the BBC feel we’ve had out stint, but it’s good and the final episode ends with an absolute major cliffhanger, so it would be a pity not to go back to it.
“I’m really looking forward to the reaction of Privates because I think it would be bizarre for all of us boys to go back and do another series.”
So it is not impossible that a second season will be filmed. Keeping my fingers crossed
