Lack of Ogre = sad.

Interesting short. Still digesting it overall, but for us SP fans who loved Ogre's presence in Repo will surely be massively let down with this one. He sings maybe one line in the movie before his song is taken over by someone else.

Absolutely agree. They advertise Ogre and Bill Mosley, back together again, and neither of them do much at all in this short. Maybe in the next, if it gets made?

I met both the mentioned actors at a horrorcon a couple months before I saw this screening, and was so excited to talk to them I didn't get a chance to bring up Devil's Carnival before my time was up. But after I thought it was strange they weren't both advertising it more since they were all about talking about Repo and what not, together and seperately. But now I guess it's because they're basically cameos.

Bill will have a song in episode two, but I'm not entirely sure about Ogre.

The lack of Paris Hilton is sad. I'm upset they ultimately couldn't find a part for her. I think Darren is just afraid that people will write this off as trash like they did with Repo because Hilton is in it which is too bad because she held her own and was fine in that movie. Sad when someone does a decent enough job but can't be cast in a film ultimately because of who they are.

reply

From what they said at the show last night that there will defiantly be more of The Twin in the next parts.

reply

Really? What crack are you smoking?! Ogre has a decent size part. He sings a duet with Briana Evigan and is seen numerous times throughout the movie. If anything Bill Moseley has a small part in this movie.

If it's been fifteen years or more, it's no longer a spoiler.

reply

If "Decent size" means "one scene and appears in the background for the rest of the film", then yeah.

And as the OP said, he has a couple of lines in the song before transforming into Briana Evigan's character and then she's singing with herself.

reply

Well, it's told that the characters will be developed more farther down the road. So hopefully we'll see more Ogre, Moseley and more.

reply

Actually his song with evigan is DIFFERENT on the soundtrack he is oversinging some lines, they left it out in the final movie tough.

The film was just way too short to find enough scenes for all of them. They could've cut the entire "Scorpions tail/tale" thing, it was fun (at least Mark Senters scene, while I like Emilie Autumn her song was just bad and redundant) and could've put in a scene featuring Paul Sorvino, Ogre, Bill, Alexa and Terrance.

In the end the cast was too big and the film too short

I don't know. From a fans perspective of these particular people, I can see how people would be disappointed. But from my perspective of just looking at the story as a whole and the potential that it shows, I think it was perfect.

The Tamer just makes sense to be the quiet one and if he has a song in the next episode, awesome, it'll be nice to hear a little bit of his perspective.

Can't complain about Twin because his character has to turn into that girl, it just makes sense. The whole thing about the dog seeing her own reflection, using her own looks and greed to entice her, what not. Very necessary for the story.

That said I do hope he gets more time in future episodes, just because Twin's song might be my favorite and the character is awesome. But like someone else said, this was too short to complain since they at least did get some good screen time without being main characters, and in theory, this is the just the beginning.
