Aditya Roy Kapoor keeps getting movie because of his brother - His acting is just terrible. This movie is a decent movie, in spite of him, not because of him.
If the Bhatts had used some other hero, this movie would have been much much better.
The heroine however brings some freshness so despite of the poor acting, she was a decent choice
Aditya Roy Kapur does well when he is playing supporting roles. I liked him in Action Replayy, Guzaarish and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. But when he is the central character, he sucks. I agree with you that other actor, let's say Ranbir Kapoor or even Arjun Kapoor could have pulled off this role with aplomb. ARK sucks as a romantic actor. He did well on the angry and sad part of the film though, but when it comes to romantic scenes, he made me cringe.
