Notes From Dad was a better than average Hallmark movie. Much better. In fact I enjoyed this modest little TV movie more than "Whiplash" --another high school music/jazz film that was all the rage last year. Congrats to the screen writer and director and the actors who made their characters believable.
shareMy main problem with Whiplash was that mid-way through it lost its sight, and turned into a badly written teen crime drama rather than simply focusing on the music. It lost all its charm for me after that.
My main problem with this was Eddie's character was more focused on other kids' lives than his own son's.
