Anyone know where this movie was filmed? I know some of the location shots are from the Ft Worth area, but the small town does not look like any Texas community in that area. Maybe the Austin area? Or maybe out of Texas altogether?

Filmed in the Los Angeles harbor area as the credits refer to Terminal Island off of Long Beach and Southbay Pavilion Mall just north of Long Beach.
sharefigures I saw this on tv today and then then scenes for Granbury I was like wtf, the hell it is. I don't think Granbury even has a mall or medical center fail. worst southern accents btw too.
shareThe mountains are the key. There are absolutely no mountains even remotely near the cities (north central and northeast Texas) in this movie. The mountains that are in Texas (West Texas, think Alpine to El Paso) look like nothing in the movie.
shareThe actual tornado footage used at about the 1:02 minute mark is of the aftermath of the May 22, 2011 EF5 that leveled Jolin MO. The large white structure is the St Johns Mercy trauma center and footage just after that is not f the Joplin High School at 20th Street in Joplin. This section of the movie is the only real footage in the whole thing.
