I guess he's worried about the destruction the wild pigs would do to their vegetable garden. They are destructive animals plus they are quite dangerous, not to mention filthy, parasite ridden creatures.

Just kidding. I don't know what his intention originally may have been, but he certainly ended up taking aim at one and killing it. I don't know how you kill just one without scaring off the rest of the herd. Do you know some secret way? Maybe you become ninja-pig-killer? Silent but deadly?
