Trouble understanding their conflict *Spoilers*

Towards the end of the film, she reaches out to him again and says she misses him and wants him to come over. So he does. They start having sex, but what creates the conflict as they were having sex? What causes him to leave and get pissed off?

Exactly what I came on this board looking for the answer to. I don't get it.

Me so horny.

She starts crying and getting all weird, so he leaves.

I had no clue either. Maybe she was losing touch with reality...kind of going insane. So it really freaked out the boy.

Bad writing, crappy film.

She's conflicted about what she's doing. She's stuck between doing the right thing and her obsession over him. She really just wants to put him in a glass case until she can sort her feelings out but she can't control him.

He gets fed up with her indecision and leaves. Don't forget he's still just a high school kid. He has nothing to lose even though he tries to be mindful for her security.

She said she was sorry and wanted him to come over. He does, they have sex, she weird out and tells him it's a mistake. I'm sure he doesn't want his feelings jersey around.

I actually really got the scene. She's crying because she's so conflicted; she's unnerved by how badly she needed him and then realizes how much she wants him (she even says to him "get closer" when he's already pressed against her) and then she's crying because she realizes how stupid she is to feel this way for a high school student. She's crying because it's an unrealistic relationship and not only that, but sure to end badly. He on the other hand, doesn't understand her at all and then when she begins to beg on her knees for him to stay, he sees how pathetic her behaviour really is and realizes he wants nothing to do with it.

sounds like best candidate we have, that and 'she was creeping him out and he wanted no more of it or her jerking him around" are as good as anything I could make of it.

The only thing I question a little bit, is that he himself is actually strong enough to suddenly just blow her off stone-killer like that...even with the turn things were taking.

I wonder if they over-built Eric a little.
