The Affair Should've Been Left Out

I enjoyed the idea of the movie - get together over-aged female basketball players to play against a high school championship team in order to raise money to keep the mobile mammogram program operational. My grandmother was a breast cancer survivor, so I can relate.

But because this movie was about breast cancer awareness, the story line arc about the affair was completely unnecessary and should've been dropped. Had I been scripting it and I would've done one of two things. I would've either had a love scene between Brooke Shields and Eric Roberts where he notices a lump on her breast or have her character do a self-examination and find a lump. The movie is about breast cancer and scenes like this would've taught the viewers of the movie what to look for or the warning signs of breast cancer. To make it more of an impact in the movie, she should've discovered that it was malignant the day before the 3rd game. That would've been 100% better than Brooke Shields' character sitting home and moping the day of the 3rd game because of her husbands unnecessary tryst.
