Thoughts on the movie...

Just watched it on Lifetime! The movie was okay...it had a predictable storyline and ending, but it was a good holiday film overall (not really a family film as there was one sex scene, although not graphic). The acting by Blake (the son) was a little too monotone for my liking, although he is good looking and a great dancer. I actually thought the rival couple danced a bit better, but to each his own! I'd watch this again next year for the holidays :p

Oooh I loved itttt!!!!! It may have helped that Ralph macchio is my favorite actor. Yeah a few things aggravated me like when Blake would get up in the dads face and point his finger I would be all "Slap his jaws already!" Lol but other than that fantastic film!

I don't know, if I were Blake and my so-called 'father' showed up when I was 18 and started trying to be a 'dad', I would have had some of the same reactions. But, then again, I'm no Macchio fan. Never liked Karate Kid and frankly think he looked every bit of his 50 years. I am old (55) so perhaps I see things a bit differently. Clayton Garrett was, to me, the saving grace of this film. He's young but has an amazing grasp of depth in a character. When you're playing an 18 year old, you need to behave like an 18 year old. I think he did that and did it well. If his deliverance was monotone, it seemed to me to be a monotone script, not much to work with. As for his dancing skills, I don't think I've ever watched a more romantic performance of the Waltz. This kid is going places and there will come a day when we all say "Yep, I knew he was gonna be big way back when" whether we said it or not.

Yea thats true. I might be the same way if my mom just died and someone comes in trying to act like they raised me. But I'm a Macchio fan and I didn't think he looked 50 at all. Yea Garret did do the waltz really good. I liked it when he danced with Pia at that Christmas party

Actually, I wasn't impressed by any of the acting of the "kids". They were all pretty bland and flat. The movie was okay, if predictable. For me, watching once was enough. :)

I liked it. This is embarrassing to admit but I teared up when Blake left and everything and every one just fell apart. But it kind of had a predictable ending you knew Blake and pia would win but I didn't predict the tie. My mom came in my room and looked at the tv and she was like "Is that Ralph macchio?!" And I was like umm yeeeeah whhhyyy and she's like "I used to think he was SO cute!!!" So I think she wants to watch it now lol Shes a lifetime freak.

Hey dumbsh&t! Put "SPOILER" in the beginning of your post in case some people haven't watched yet!! Sheesh!

reply

Sorry I forgot! SPOILER But it's predictable anyway and it won't come on till next year and by then you probably forgot what I said!

I liked it and the fact that Ralph M was in it made it better.

Ralph M I think is what drew people in to watch the film, he was a good dancer on Dancing with the stars so not surprised he did a holiday dance flick! The teens , in exception for the son (Blake) were from so you think you can dance Canada.

Definitely drew me in. But what's weird is Ralph's 50 and looks 30 it's crazy but he's still adorable in my book!
