Subtle nuances to note. Excellent film by Indian standards

Some spoilers ahead, beware.

We all liked or disliked the film. A video on subtle nuances in the film I came across on youtube below.

Most points while interesting to note are not really exceptional agreed, but 17:23 in it was a superb screenplay. The likes you see in a seasoned film makers' in World Cinema.

Apart, the fight scene had an excellent screenplay : falls, the drop of water, elaborate fight scene begins, the water drops again a few times. This just to show the real time for the fight, the interval between the drops! And in it the fight was shown fast and slow, not just to impress but to show the real time quick fight and the slow one with all the details. You don't see people waiting n coming one after the other to fight him, you see their reactions in different angles, all real time. Not your usual fight scene. I don't think Indian films, at least in the mainstream go to these painstaking levels, may be just a few even in World Cinema.

Does this film compare with a Bergman or Tarkovsky work in screenplay and direction? No. But does it deliver in being uniquely entertaining to us over-cheese-fed-drugged-audience and be far far ahead of its Indian contemporaries, even the best ones. I think it very well does.

Absolute rating never works for films, imho. Is 2001 the best sci-fi film, no solyaris is better. But 2001 is a brilliant film, still a classic and far better than Armageddon.

I wish such films are promoted by us audience. Instead we indulge in jawani dewani, ek tha tiger $hit. We keep 3 idiots, my name is khan, dabangg, chak de, in our heads, dance and just pass this on, why? I know I put 3 idiots in it and you went whaaat, but yeah imho it is a mediocre but entertaining movie. I forgot the film's contents already but this one I will remember, or at least the highlights for time to come.
Kudos to Kamal and team for this one.

Peace.
