Quite surprised about the high female audience for this movie...

Come on, 52%?

By the way, this is a movie clearly aimed to a male audience. I assumed all the females would flock to watch Cinderella, while most of the men would watch Run All Night.

I'm also surprised after reading it's A- score, which usually means good word of mouth.

Is there any explanation or reason to justify that performance?

There's only one female character in the film, and she has about a minute worth of dialogue. This only means one thing: Liam Neeson knows how to bring in the ladies with his suave old school demeanor. A man's man of an actor. Not some pansy ass metrosexual that has been flooding the action genre of late.

I agree 100%. Neeson had a good performance in this fine flick.

It's miles better than most of his previous action movies and it got more positive than negative reviews overall. I hope it has a good word of mouth and all the people who watched Cinderella, not give it a chance. XD

I think Cinderella was sold out, and rather than go home, women went to see Liam (whom they like in general), rather than go home. That seems much more logical analysis of the female increase. If females were huge factors in Laim's action movies, they would have had commercials on Lifetime, Oxygen or the like.

I disagree completely. I have plenty female friends and family members who all really wanted to see Run All Night. I don't think I know anyone who gives a crap about Cinderella. There are a lot of things going for it: Liam Neeson, Joel Kinnaman, and of course the plot. There's just something appealing about watching Liam as a badass father trying to save his son. That's why it has such a high female audience. It's not because Cinderella was sold out... come on. Your whole post is patronizing and off base.

You're so right cause you know us women only like girly rom-coms while you menz love the tough kill 'em dead bang bang flicks. The mere thought of a woman wanting to enjoy an action movie is utterly absurd.

What an ignorant and silly sexist statement. I saw RUN ALL NIGHT because I've always liked gangster films (both me and my friend, who's also female, enjoyed the heck out of it) plus I've liked Neeson in WALK AMONG THE TOMBSTONES,NON-STOP and THE GREY,simply because those were all good movies, period. And I'm a woman who liked action-packed drams like this one as well rom-com and foreign flicks. Your gender doesen't always determine what kind of movies you like---you just like 'em,period. In other words, you don't have to be a man at all to appreciate a good, tough, hardcore action drama like RAN. End of story.

Maybe female teenagers would want to go see Cinderella but I'd imagine most older females prefer action flicks. I always hear how women don't like action movies but I find that funny because all the girls I know actually do. Now that's not to say I don't like rom-coms and sappy movies too because I do.
