Price...worst professional hitman ever??

Seriously???!! Anyone else feel the same way?

"You might know who we are but we know who you are."

reply

He's no brother mazzone

reply

Ha!! Or Omar Little!

reply

Funny...I'd thought the exact same thing!

reply

He's like Harlen Maguire from Road to Perdition. Highly skilled but unable to kill an enforcer who doesn't have even close to the same skill set.

Why are you going into freak-out mode?

reply

Maguire blew this guys skill out of the water. He shoot from a balcony to a moving car after getting shotgun blasted and hit. Good aim.

I was reading the info about this movie before I sat through it and I thought it would be a bit like that movie.

That movie was miles better than this, I can't exactly point out why, but if I had to guess It's that Liam Neeson is too old for the role, I just don't much care for the guy after Taken 2 and 3, he is the same lame duck it's impossible to buy.

If Harlen is Tom Hanks in Road to Perdition which I assume he is I don't remember the character name, he was at least somewhat likable I mean, he was an anti-hero and a bad guy but he really wasn't painted as despicable as Neeson, I don't know exactly why I felt this way about him but judging by the rating I'm not alone.

"but if I had to guess It's that Liam Neeson is too old for the role"

Did you see the movie and do you understand what it was all about? The main underlining theme is that you have this aging, way past his prime hit man dealing with his demons and a lifetime of regrets. His timing is off, as are his skills and now he is dealing with his regrets and failures as a father. Neeson playing this part 20 years ago would have been a mis-cast. This aging Neeson was perfect for this part.

reply

Yeah, good point...

I let the taint of Neeson into the film after watching Taken 3, so I was upset with him and his acting after that I guess... It wasn't a bad film now that I'm trying to remember it all. Kind of dark but that's alright.

reply

At least I'm not the only one who thought he sucked at his job. Dude was decked out like Inspector Gadget and still couldn't finish the job.

reply

Bad screenwriting. When a bad guy and assassin like Price makes so many dumb moves, so the plot can have a twist here or there and then resolve, it means you have a screenwriter who is subpar, relying on contrivances

reply

Agreed

reply

When Liam Neeson says, "If you want to see your family again, leave now ... He's a professional killer. He won't stop until we're dead." I thought he would be magnificent or unstoppable. Instead, Price got a beatdown by Liam Neeson singlehandedly and would have died if Michael had pulled the trigger.

Yes he was a big joke...worst ever written hit-man in any movie. Not even using a silencer and killing like 100 cops in a building sorruounded by cops and shooting in a stair full of people (witnesses)he was a complete written joke, nothing wrong with commons acting but the writers of this movie...omg...its like they never seen a hit-man movie before...

I honestly thought he died when the police rushed the apartment they him and Conlon were fighting in. I guess he took down every cop that walked thru that door? A bit much isn't it?

reply

Wow, lots of hate for this character. I thought Price was pretty bad ass. His target was another hitman (not a politician, judge or witness testifying against the mob). Plus he had to take out his son who had hand to hand combat skills and firearms training.

Yes, Price could have been killed in the apartment building, but he put up a hell of a fight against Jimmy Conlon. And he was thorough. He tracked down Conlon and his son in the end and would have easily killed his son if Jimmy didn't hadn't found the strength to fire that final rifle shot.

Plus he gets points for other professional hit skills: using a lockpick, infrared, avoiding detection, monitoring the police scanner, athleticism. He wasn't Anton Chigurh, the Iceman or Agent 47, but was still solid. Common played the part well.

evermorelz4...solid you say?? you make me laugh even more with such retarded claims on such a poorly written joke of a character...Cool hitman who not even using a silencer and killing like 100 cops in a building sorruounded by cops (without a silencer) and shooting in a stair full of people (witnesses)he was a complete written joke, nothing wrong with commons acting but the writers of this movie...omg...its like they never seen a hit-man movie before...

Why use a silencer in a burning building with no power? There was enough chaos and confusion from the fire and blackout to kill Jimmy and Michael without being detected or identified. Who could have positively identified him in a smoke filled building without electricity? The tenants were trying frantically just to get out alive. The only cop that could have positively identified him was killed by Price outside the building entrance.

Vincent cut the building's power in Collateral before his last hit. Anton Chigurh turned off the hotel lights before the attempted execution of Lewellen Moss, so I disagree the writers never saw a movie about professional killers. Price was also able to withstand immense pain too. The hitmen in No Country and Collateral both had high pain tolerance.

Certainly not the worst professional hitman. He wouldn't have lasted until the end of the film if that were the case. The Gravedigger was just old school where Andrew Price was modernized. Don't forget, he did kill Jimmy Conlon in the end. Even though Price did die first.

reply

Maybe the hitman was a little over zealous-which took away from his accuracy. When he found out who the mark was,he was so elated he offered to do the hit for free.Nessons character then goads him while being chased in the burning building, defiantly getting under his skin. All reasons for Price to be off his game.Nessons character was known as "The Grave Digger",so obviously they were in compitition with each other.Price had his chance to whack his biggest competition and choked.

reply

Price has to take this job on pretty short notice, no planning, and was up against someone better than him, who had sunk into drunken carelessness, but was now revived by the drive to protect his son.

Price still killed Conlon, though he died in the process. I guess the worst hitman is one who gets killed and fails to get their target either.

The actor's name is "Common." So, being common, what can you expect? Kind of like saying "Just get me whomever from Central Casting." 
