Ridiculous Series Finale!

Tonight's series finale was an example of a show that would have been better left to not have one. I'm sure there are people who could write better fan fiction than what was done tonight.

I have liked this show all the way up til right this moment.

They had less than a few days to rewrite the script, as ABC had ordered 2 additional ones already, so considering what they had to work with it was better than nothing.

That's kind of my point. Nothing would have been better than the rush job that it clearly was. Just because it was a rush job doesn't mean that it should look rushed.

It was sloppy.

I liked the ending. I was actually hoping it would end in some ridiculous cliffhanger, but I liked the morally ambiguous 'happy' ending. I like thinking of Jane having a 'nice' life.

reply

Don't worry, it's only PART 1.

reply

Nope, datz it. It's not on the schedule next week.

That's just a really annoying error someone made somewhere - probably an ABC scheduler - and it's never been fixed, there is no Part 2, when they filmed it they knew that was the last episode.

And a rush job conclusion is better than a massive cliffhanger.

Agree completely .
Terrible ending

How should it have ended? I would have liked to have got a better explanation of where one went when you walked down the spiral staircase.

reply

Yeah, I know. But, after living through the Lost finale, one in which there was a lot of time to prepare, this one wasn't too bad. The number of loose ends on Lost, for me at least, was in the double digits.

this is why you should stop putting your trust in these low cable networks watch FX or TNT or Universal thank god re runs do not cancel......Or have rush endings....

yep there isn't much I watch on prime time. This and Revenge (I caught 1st season on Netfx. Lost really made me angry. I only watched Alkatraz (sp?) and Fringe from JJ Abrams after that.

Do not trust abc CBS or NBC again

reply

Fitting, since it was a ridiculous series.

I liked the show generally, but that ending was horrible. I finally watched it in my Hulu queue, and days later I'm still asking, "Really???"

reply

You call that a two part series I can do much better then that

reply

the ending was bad anyway.

Ha, just after watching the second to last episode I read that this series had a bad ending, so I feared something lackluster... Now I've just watched the finale and what the hell? It was a fine conclusion! Not riveting, but no bad by ANY means. They tied the main story nicely together :)

Surely we were being lead to the birth of the anti christ similar to The Omen and of course as mentioned Rosemary's baby. If it was indeed a rushed ending and I do not know why as the tale was glossy and fairly well told other than the fact we were left with so many questions. The young girl had a purpose. The ending was suited in part. Gavin himself may be on borrowed time but we are not going to ever find out or be given real closure.
