just watched the first episode/similarities to H2O

I must say, I wasn't too impressed with the Pilot episode. The plot was simple, the special effects were terrible and uninspired and the girls seemed kinda dumb^^
The similarities to H2O- Just add water are quite obvious, which is not a bad thing, but I find the mermaids much more charming overall (tho it's a bit too early to judge). My favorite would be Kiki (Jessica Green)so far..

Jonathan M. Shiff seems to dig revealing girls, water and supernatural elements, I think its his 4th or 5th show with such a theme^^
characters: Kiki/Cleo (a bit shy/caring/loveable), Zoey/Rikki(rebellious), Amber/Emma(responsible), Luca/Lewis (just watch the show he's like Lewis 2.0). And maybe Brandon/Zane, Madison/Miriam.
Diner/Rikki's
Lighthouse/Mako Island

The child is grown,The dream is gone.I have become comfortably numb.

I only saw your subject and about to read the entire post - but was about to come in here to discuss how I watched H20 (reruns recently) and just today caught a glimpse of this show. In episode I'm watching it showcases some guy friend who just found out they are aliens which is similiar to when the guys on H2O found out.

Oddly till I came to this page - did I notice both shows are made in Austrilia.

I sadly live in the dark ages ~ I became content w/ my cable service and have yet to consider adding Netflix (like everyone else I know who has it).

At first I was interested in watching this show but unsure if I will enjoy it as much as the first version. Would it be worth the watch even if I have to check it out online?

The show also has lot of similarities to 3rd Rock From The Sun from the 90s. 3rd Rock is also an alien show as well as being a sitcom. The girls were a lot like the Solomons when they first came to Earth.
