Does Hollywood hate Saxons?

I know Vikings are cool and were ferocious warriors, but come on, the Saxons were no slouches themselves.
It seems in practically every Viking film or TV show a lone Viking can easily kill 10 - 30 Saxons before being taken down.
In this film I gave up when Steiner's younger brother, who had never been in combat before, killed one or two "Well armed and trained" Saxon assassins.
Bloody pathetic.
