The physics/mechanics of the Bolito device do not hold up

In order to have the compression power necessary to kill--and even overcome someone putting heir hands in the way and cut right through them--the battery pack would have to be much larger than the one depicted in the film. The device, at this point, would become impracticably large. A cool idea but not mechanically feasible as of yet.

Are you sure about that? How do you know it isn't an advanced motor/battery that is just strong enough so that force against it won't do anything? All it needs is to show no resistance, and then the rest does the job itself no matter how quick it goes. You can't just stretch it out and slip it off

I just noticed that you argued with both people who posted comments skeptical of the bolito. I am beginning to think that maybe you work for the manufacturer of the bolito? Do you have anything you wish to disclose about your relationship with the bolito manufacturer? If not, you are an incorrigible bolito apologist.

reply

I just think it's funny how people automatically doubt the device and come up with reasons to claim it won't work. It seems very feasible to me. I guess I just feel the need to defend things in movies that I like, lol.

HELLO! BILLY MAYS here, to talk to you about the wonderful, all-powerful Bolito (C)!

This device probably does not exist... if it did, it would take the fun out of killing. Cartels are sadists, they like to watch, they like to kill.

Certainly a quick 5 minute death would not be pleasurable for a sadistic psycho.

reply

brett, i have already explained that to you in detail. multiple times.

I does not matter. I was just a device that we are to believe would work. You can come up with 1,000 other ways to kill Pitt, but this idea was pretty cool. If you want to argue about the devices actual capabilities you're just spinning your wheels.

reply

It was a flashy little toy that we were supposed to think was cool. You did. I think it is pretty childish. It would be a truly awkward way to kill someone. If they were going to use undiscovered technology from the future, why not use a ray gun?

All in all though, the one plus for this movie is Pitt's death scene. He never looked better.

Mairzy doats and dozy doats, but liddle lamzi nothing.

It's cute that you pretend to know what you're talking about when it comes to a fictional device used in a film. You do realize that The Counselor was not set in the real world, don't you? It's pure pulp. Nothing has to make sense in the real world, it just has to make sense in the world McCarthy and Scott created, which it does.

"This life's hard, man, but it's harder if you're stupid!"

actually it was all happening on a mars colony, right?
