To those saying the motor of the bolito is too small

Well maybe it is or maybe it isn't.. but would it make any difference if they built one with a motor that WAS capable of producing that kind of force? I highly doubt it would be that large or heavy that someone wouldn't be able to carry it around and slip it over someone's head almost as easy as shown in this movie. Might be a little more awkward but a skilled assassin could still do it. And the wire that is uncuttable is an actual thing. It has to go through a series of processes in order to cut it, with special type of equipment, and you can't just use wire cutters. My point is, stop doubting that a device like this is possible. It is. Sorry to pull you out of your safe little bubble of a life :)

and your point being? i mean apart from letting us know that you dropped out of all science classes early into high school.

reply

No you got it. That was the whole point of this post, but I wanted to do it in a cryptic way to make you all think. Well done!

reply

hmm, but we had already established your lack of basic science skills shortly after the film came out. why insist on reminding us?

It's not the motor, it's the power source. A couple of AA batteries would not be capable of powering an engine with the torque required to sever the spinal column.

The jogger was carrying a suitcase with the batteries, yes? :)

Why bother when you can have a man use wires?

With cartels like that, they can take the man with a van... record the whole thing for future reviewing/nostalgia.... and they can do it without a technological device.

Who would waste time building it? Who would make a business out of selling it only to end up getting caught ?

It's all about the fear factor. They want to terrify people in thinking that at any time, someone could sneak up behind them, put it around their neck, and vanish while the bolito does its job. It's scarier than trying to fight off some guy, because you know there's nothing you can do, and you just sit back and feel wire gradually decapitating you. If you fight someone off, you may have a chance, and the attacker will most likely try to get it done quick. If you ask me I'd rather die quickly by surprise while struggling than from a bolito where you know exactly what's coming seconds away and you can only just wait and accept it. It's terrifying
