Psycho-History?

The Panopticon was basically psycho-history from Asimov's I-Robot/Empire/Foundation universe. Asimov was able to get away with it because it took tens of thousands of years to develop, among other factors (trying to avoid spoilers). For this show to just introduce it into "modern day" with no explanation is simply bad sci-fi. Especially when it is really only used as a side-prop.

Of course, psycho-history was used to shape the future, not change the present, but it is basically the same. Asimov used about 8 novels to explain what this show passed off as a GitM plot device in 45 seconds.

Hmmm. I wonder why this show didn't last...
