Isn't this the same premise as another show?

I seem to remember another show where someone could be sent back in time a week or something in order to stop a terrorist attack or whatever the "disaster de jour" was.

reply

Are you thinking of seven days?

reply

Yeah, I remember that show. I kinda liked it, considering. What got me was, they kept going on about the gadget only having a limited power supply, but obviously enough for it to last 3 seasons. :D

A simular show up in Canada at the moment is 'Continuum', shopping for a US distributor now. In it, this cop from 2077 gets thrown back to 2012 Vancouver to stop a bunch of terrorists who escaped jail by going to the past. Kinda like Time Trax, but updated.

[One year later]

"Continuum" turned out to be a vastly better show than "Rewind" could ever be (I got a big kick out of a line in "Rewind" about preserving the continuum). That's probably one big reason why SyFy didn't pick up "Rewind".

reply

Really? Cool, I'll have to start watching that one. I loved Time Trax and Seven Days growing up.

reply

Yeah that's the show, I've no idea how I saw it or even how many episodes. Interesting that they're able to put out a new show that's pretty much the exact premise of another that I don't think could have done all that well in the first place.

reply

It was seven days where the lead man was frank b parker who used alien sphere to go back in time for seven days and stop what ever needed to be stop.

reply

As soon as I saw the minimal ad on Syfy.com I thought "Oh, it's SEVEN DAYS" again.

reply

You saw an ad for this David? I only know about it because I happened to check What's New on tvguide.com.

reply

I believe it was called "Seven Days", or something like that. They could only go 7 days into the past to get info so they could stop some bad event.

reply

How about Quantum Leap, Deja Vu, Sound of Thunder, Time Tunnel

reply

Not like other shows, but had pieces of them-
7 day - go back to stop disaster.
Quantum Leap - unknown destination.
Time cop - may now have to fix another time travelers mistake.
I liked the show & hope to see more big fan of time travel shows.

the reviewers seem to have some bug up their ass i thoroughly enjoyed this.

yes it had all the usual stereo types and some shakey camera work.

but it has loads of potential.

Yes as others have said the basic premise "go back in time to fix a problem" is similar to "Seven Days", and a bunch of other shows: Time Tunnel, Quantum Leap etc...

Seven Days - a military or ex-military misfit recruited/drafted by a military run/funded time-travel program to fix some huge horrific event. The program wasn't initially designed for that specific event but the event springboards the program into operation.

Quantum Leap - Random Destination in time, no guarantee of getting back home. Plus using some kind of particle/quantum excelerator to create the time-stream to be walked through. fixing what went wrong.

Time Tunnel - been ages since I've seen it and I was really really little so it is very fuzzy, but the walking directly into the wormhole/time-stream.

Stargate - walking directly into the worm hole. Military run/funded operation with some civilians.

Voyagers - Random destinations and fixing what is wrong.

Peabody's Improbably History is the best time-travel show of all time.

However...I have a soft spot for The Time Tunnel (1966) with all it's crazy exploding consoles, failing time-locks, interfering visitors, aliens, warlords, and questionable morals, and green turtlenecks. ...and of course, the radiation bath that makes it all possible.

it's more like Quantum Leap
