The Ending

Where do you think the military guy went to ? As he was putting on his winter coat I thought I saw a brief flash of an SS badge on it. Possibly to wartime Germany ?

reply

Yeah, it was pretty obvious he was going to try to assassinate someone, but I didn't get any cues about where. What I want to know though, is how he knew he'd be going to a cold weather environment next and if it would be where he really wanted to go.

reply

Yeah the better question to ask is not "what was he going to do, and to what destination was he going?" but rather "HOW did he KNOW what would actually BE the next destination?"

The good ol' "character knows more than he's letting on" type of intrigue (for example, it really worked well with the "Robert Hawkins" character in Jericho).

I'm willing to bet he was going to kill Hitler.

reply

A lot of people kill Hitler. At some point he's gonna run out of body boubles ;)

reply

One can only assume that he has actually been in the program longer than it has existed?
Meaning he has come back (or before 'back') from a future operation, possibly to a point before the program, and worked his way forward to this point (knowing what the next window was going to be), just so he could go kill Hitler, Starlin, his Viking great grandfather etc...

My God, it's full of stars!

reply

Just a variation on Kill Hitler: go for Stalin.

The OP asks 'The Ending'

I want to know about the VERY LAST scene where the dude who talking to his on a cell phone, just to hear his wife's voice because they save New York and she now lives.

But then he turns to look at a window, the view through the window seems rather bland so I don't know if it's to outside view or a view into the lab/time machine room.

However as he looks, it seems the view of what he's looking at is fading to black.
(Then we fade to black - TV show ends.)

Does that mean that someone (perhaps the dude who put on the fur coat - who we are guessing has jumped back in time for a private' mission (kill Hitler)) has gone back in time and screwed things up ??

I dunno if the guy on the phone was still in the part of the Laboratory that is protected from changes in the time line.

Something major seemed to have happened, bigger than the death of one person. The whole environment was changing. Question. Is the whole facility shielded in some kind of time bubble?

reply

Yes, there was a line by the General that gotKnox out of the prison for the 48-hr. furlough to do the mission that the facility was 'shielded' from time ripples (unexplained, but hey, suspend belief...) so that only the people inside would be unaffected by changing time. That's why that general also said that he would not remember anything about this mission if it was successful (because then the timeline that led to the bomb in NYC and Knox going to the brig and having to be brought out of the brig to go on the mission... etc.... would never have happened and the Gen. would not know Knox.).
