Is Oliver The Dumbest Comic Book Hero Of All Time (So Far), Or What?

He knows Chase has a dead-man's switch in his body that will trigger an explosion of the entire island if his heart stops, which prevents Ollie from killing Chase, but, when he beats Chase to the ground, does he subdue him with ropes, lanyards, duct tape or Krazy Glue so psycho Chase can't kill himself? No, Ollie lets Chase just lay there while Green Arrow hugs his son. Then--surprise!--Chase shoots himself, blowing up the whole island and, in theory, all of Team Arrow. I was yelling "Tie-him-up!" repeatedly at the TV screen. I'm reasonably certain that a mound of dirt is smarter than Oliver.
