The developer's said last week that there will be an update shortly on the game and Sony have a press conference on the 20th February, so my theory is that Sony will launch the PS4 by showing off Beyond. Lets face it we all said that Beyond looked far too good for current generation consoles anyway.

I'm not sure what good that would do given how the game is finished for use on PS3. Besides upconverting it to a higher resolution maybe. It would make more sense just to have a new game for PS4. And I'm not sure how much better it would look since it's not like you're converting an SD game like God of War into HD.

The reason they will have it available on both will be because there are potentially customers who did not have a PS3 but will buy a PS4 especially those that do end up leaving Xbox despite their change of heart on used/borrowed games and always online policy. Then there will be those who will buy both versions. I am sure there will be some differences and features added to the PS4 version. I will probably rent PS3 version and buy the PS4 version if it happens.
shareIt already looks like a next gen game. It might eventually get ported to the PS4, but like other end of console games that came out recently, they're going to milk it for all its worth before porting it. It would make no sense to have a game like this come out on the PS3 so late and then have it as a PS4 launch title. That would just hurt sales.

They did it with The Last of Us which has the same amount of excellent graphics, yet they did it, so I wouldn't see why they wouldn't release this game for PS4 with better graphics
shareI think that a lot of these end of console PS3 games will eventually be released on PS4, but they'll make more money releasing it on PS3 at first and milking the sales for all they're worth and then they'll drop the price of the PS4 and more people will buy it up and they'll release more games on the next generation console.

This won't get pushed to PS4, as much as I'd like to play it on a PS4. I just hope we get it to stream and play it on PS4 using sony's cloud service. That would be sweet.
