John Stamos -- Wow (and my plot wish list)

I usually shun religious/pastor/scandal movies, but this was SO good. John Stamos is getting better looking with each role. Wow. I don't know why he isn't of Tom Cruise's level of billing by now.

Was this a true story, anyone know? If not, I would have loved to have changed the plot a little (sorry, I do this alot!) so that Alice hadn't died. She should have at the worst been in a coma the rest of the movie, but pulled through at the end. There was such great chemistry between these 2 leads. You WANTED to see them together, nevermind the potential scandal. Then he shouldn't have slept with the Aura gal. That whole scene didn't make sense to me. Fine that he explores another philosophy and the scenery was beautiful, but a little pointless IMO that he slept with her. But I get that it led to him being arrested.

But all in all, great movie. I agree with the rest that was a powerful twist at the end with whodunnit. And John Stamos, if you're reading, keep up the great work!

I can understand your rewrite ... it makes a lot more sense. As you say, that would give Katie the best reason to kill her father. Nevertheless, I was somehow all right with the mom dying.

Maybe it was poetic justice for her having fooled around on her husband, and with a pastor ... or her having allowed her need to be wanted to have allowed her to stay with her husband. Perhaps it was that sort of dependency that pushed the pastor away. It probably would have been better if he had not succumbed to the whole intimacy thing in the first place. The only real question I have, like you, is ... why did Katie kill her father? Clearly he would have been adjudicated for the mother's death and would have gone away for a very long time. So I think the answer to your question is really just that it makes for better drama :)
