We need more slasher movie remakes like this!!!

I think this will be good for the old school horror fans and the movie industry and also kind of kick away the Paranormal / Evil Demon Possession stuff that somehow is getting so boring to watch if we can get the slasher movies booming. Let's see some more remakes put out there for Sleepaway Camp, The Burning, Tourist Trap, etc... As far as the movie itself it looks great for a remake of the original. The original is a classic movie and very well scripted. I highly recommend that you watch the original first and then comeback and compare both of them.

Here is the link to the original one.

I hear you, but this is not a remake.

^ Has that been confirmed? The film certainly looks like a remake of Soavi's movie albeit with a different cast and younger actors. It has the same title and basic plot.

This is a remake. There are differences like this one taking place in an acting camp of sorts but it's still a killer murdering the cast and crew of a play in a theater (and now possibly an acting camp), looks great though. I agree that it looks like a good remake, although I don't think we need more remakes.

No, this is not a remake. It shares a lot of plot points with "The Clown at Midnight" but not the original "Stagefright". I guess with that title, theres not a lot of wiggle room.

I saw this on 3/31 at my local budget theater. One showing played from a Blu-ray. Pretty good movie.

I like guns, slasher movies, retro video games, and more guns.

For me, "old school" would be Psycho, the original The Haunting, the Barbara Steele films Black Sunday and Castle of Blood. For me, even Halloween and Friday the 13th are far below par. Yeah I know, I'm old, lol. Having said that, this DOES look interesting.

I'm the same way and I was born in the 1990s. When I think of old movies, I think of black and white/silent films. If my parents were alive when it was made, it isn't that old. And if I was alive when it was made, it is brand new.

I can dig the basic sentiment but... why remakes?

It's NOT a remake...watch the damn movie, they are not the same.

Um, actually Stage Fright 2014 shares a very similar story with Stage Fright 1980 (AKA Nightmares), which came before Michele Soavi's Deliria (AKA Stage Fright, year 1987).

So, is this a remake or not?

Boycott movies that involve real animal violence! (and their directors too)

I'm kind of getting fed up with the paranormal/evil demon possession too, but would rather see some original slashers than remakes though...
