I can appreciate West Side Story, I can watch The Blues Brothers and enjoy it. I liked what they were aiming for with this but there was just far too much singing going on. I wanted everyone in the camp to die during the opening number!
shareI think that's part of what makes it so funny. Not to mention what a bunch of pretentious, self-involved little s * * ts the campers are. It definitely made the scene where the redhead and the gay stage manager out-diva each other during the aria.

shareYou're SUPPOSED to want everyone who sings to die horribly. That's the point of the movie. You need to grasp the irony here. They're SUPPOSED to be untalented nitwits.
And if you watch this movie, you'll be gratified that most of them DO, whereas I'm continually thwarted in my desire to see everyone who uses dumb abbreviations like "OMFG" die equally horribly. Stop abbreviating the Lord's name in vain, you blasphemous morons!
