Already bored of the Choreo

The Choreography on this show is so repetitive. I'm sure a trained eye can find the same fault with the original show, but I think the more fluid ballet style dance covers it up better.

Here, the dancers spend way too much time doing poses without movement, sticking their feet over their head (Lucas especially), and the splits.

Plus, the jerky arm movements and the "duck under the bar" move with their head and neck.

People pay to watch hours of ballet which is basically the same moves over and over in different arrangements, but this style, whatever you want to call it, gets old really fast. I think it's because the style is jerky and bold and so it's not vanilla enough for mass consumption. It might work for a few minutes at a time, but I'm totally bored with it now.

They need to get a bigger vocabulary of moves.

My thoughts exactly...seriously I got so bored with the dancing after only one episode. The kids are strong, I'll give them that but as far as dancing goes they leave a lot to be desired. They might win but they are not interesting to watch AT ALL.

im not a fan of contemprory dance i prefer lyrical for this very reason. modern dancing or "jazz funk" as they call it was interesting and exciting at first but after a few years of it i'm just not impressed anymore. lyrical dancing on the otherhand is timeless. the reason you see the kids do the same moves is because they are trying to show what moves they do best andthey can learn a completly new routine week so its not likley you'll see a completly new dance that isnt just recycled moves and choreo. but i agree on the extensions. they do them waaaay too much every other move is a leg extension it gets old and boring and it never contributes to the story behind the choreography.

Remember that they're coming up with at least 3 new dances a week, things are going to get repetitive

And you know this how? Who knows what she comes up with? That's not the point anyway, most people would rather watch Abbey's girls dance than Starz kids hands down. Their dances are so repetitive and dull, the extensions are neat after one time but every week is incredibly boring and they lack the emotion and feeling that the original girls have.

They've said it numerous times throughout the past two seasons of regular dance moms that they learn a new dance every week that the show is filming so it's probably the same for Starz since it's pretty much hte same format. You try choreographing a few new dances a week and see if they don't get repetitive.

I know they learn many new dances, I just prefer Abbey's choreography. Starz choreo is IMO boring and uninspired. I'd rather watch Abbye's repeated spins and leaps than the Starz dancers leg extensions...

Maybe it's the show editors, they just keep showing clips of Lucas and that boring leg extension. But still, get some new moves people.
