This movie is obviously loosely, LOOSELY based on the James Bulger case.
So what was the thought process behind naming one of the killers James? Was there one?
Did this occur to no one? Or worse, was it intentional?
There's a LOT to bothered by in this movie (& not in the way they intended for us to) but for some reason this detail pissed me right off.
I just finished watching it and thought the same thing! It's clearly inspired by the James Bulgar case. Out of all the names they could have used, I have no idea why they used James for the character.
I'm glad it's not just me! Whether it was on purpose or not, it just felt kind of disrespectful, right? I mean, the whole movie was kind of a slap in the face to the subject matter, but for whatever reason the James thing really irked me. The whole movie was just wrong on every level, lol...
