for me, Marco Polo . . . yeah he was boring as hell. The writers should do a better jobs for next season. This series would've had a better title with something like "Khans" or "Nomad Kings" or "Mongol Empire" or etc.

shareI find everyone in the show interesting but Marco. He just seems to be in the way. The show works fine without him. The should've given it a different title and left him out.

The point if the show being called Marco Polo is because people don't know Kublai khan or anything about the Mongol empire. This has been stated multiple times in the message boards for other topics. Tell me, did you know who Kublai khan was before watching the show? Does anyone know about the Mongol empire besides what was learned in school. They titled it Marco Polo so that its something people in the West would want to watch. Most people know Marco Polo, the game than the actual traveler. So this is the reason why they chose this title to grab the attention of what people probably know a little about.
About Marco as a character, I think he brings a different perspective to the show. As him being from Venice and he is as new to all the things that go on in the Mongol empire as we are and in some way we can relate to him.
