Nestorians in China

It is very disappointing that Marco Polo will not have a Season 3. While it may not be historically accurate in all respects, by bringing to life some the main players in Polo's narrative the series really captured the spirit of the period. One point I was less sure about was the attempt to bring in so much about the Nestorian Christians, who Polo mentions but does not highlight. Kublai Khan's mother was a Nestorian and he himself was tolerant of different religions. But the idea of a Crusader army reaching Mongolia detracted from the core theme of Marco's own experiences at Kublai's court and his personal relationship with Kublai. Overall this is a small complaint - especially compared with the loss of the whole show - which really was an imaginative retelling of a great story.
